What is the Stark HoseSwivel?
The Stark HoseSwivel is a unique product which fits into any size hose to help stop the kinking and bending that interrupts the flow of liquids or air.

How does the Stark HoseSwivel work?
The Stark HoseSwivel rotates 360 degrees in both directions giving the hose the ability to realign and reposition itself as it is maneuvered during use.

What are the benefits of the Stark HoseSwivel?
The Stark HoseSwivel is a must for all hose users who have experienced the frustration of hoses kinking, bending and twisting. This annoying and frustrating problem is reduced with the installation of a Stark HoseSwivel. With the reduction of the need to continually stop and untwist the hose, whatever job you are doing becomes easier and more efficient. Not only is time saved but there is a cost saving element also. The installation of a Stark HoseSwivel ensures a longer life of your hose by preventing the kinks and bends which we all know eventually turn into leaks that require costly repairs or replacement.

Where do you place the Stark HoseSwivel?
Generally, one Stark HoseSwivel will prevent kinks in a hose up to 15 meters ( 45 feet ) long. More than one may be required if the hose is longer or if the hose is particularly worn/aged. If there is one part of the hose that kinks all of the time and has started to wear, this will be the best spot to install a Stark HoseSwivel. The Stark HoseSwivel may also be used to interconnect any number of hoses.

How do you install the Stark HoseSwivel?
Once you have chosen where you will place the Stark HoseSwivel, cut the hose in half and insert the swivel with loose hose clamps on each end. If it is difficult to insert, place each end of the hose in hot water for a few seconds before being pushed onto each end of the Swivel. Then secure by tightening the hose clamps ( not supplied ). The 12mm ( ½ inch ) Garden Stark HoseSwivel comes with locking nuts. The locking nuts are also placed on each end of the Swivel before insertion into the hose. Each end of the hose is then pushed onto each end of the Swivel. Both locking nuts must be tightened to secure the Swivel onto the hose.

What sizes are available?
12mm ( ½ inch )
19mm ( ¾ inch )
25mm ( 1 inch )
32mm ( 1 ¼ inch )
40mm ( 1 ½ inch )
At present the 50mm ( 2 inch ), 75mm ( 3 inch ) and 100mm ( 4 inch ) prototypes are being tested in the field before production begins.

Can the Stark HoseSwivel be used with other liquids besides water and air?
At this stage our warranty only covers use with water, air and vacuum but customers are successfully using the product with a variety of fluids.

The Stark HoseSwivel seems tight when I turn it with my hand?
Initially all the Swivels seem tight when turning them by hand. The tightness is reduced once water or air lubricates the O-ring inside. Also, the weight of the hose ensures that rotation occurs freely during use.

Does the Stark HoseSwivel leak?
As long as the locking nuts or hose clamps are secured tightly and it is used within the warranty guidelines no leaks will occur.

Can the O-ring be replaced?
No. The design, manufacture and assembly of the product does not allow the O-ring to be replaced.

What is the Stark HoseSwivel made of?
The Stark HoseSwivel is made of a special acetyl plastic which has metal-like properties. There is also a special compound added to the plastic in the manufacturing process to prevent the breakdown of plastic from ultra-violet exposure.
